Do I need to create an account?
If you are just browsing our site it is not required to have an account with us. If you plan to sell your boat or advertise, then we require that you have an account with us. Buyers and private party advertisers can create a "user" account. Boat dealers, brokers and builders may create a "dealer" account for additional business features and discounted rates (dealers must keep at least 5 active listings on our site). If you would like to add your business to our service directory then create a "services" account. To place a business banner ad on our website, create an "advertiser account". It only takes a couple minutes to create an account with us and it is ALWAYS free.

How do I create an account?
On the left margin of each web page, you'll find a navigation menu. Under the advertising section you'll see a list of options to choose from...sell your watercraft...dealer/broker program...list your service in our directory...banner advertising. Click on the appropriate link and you will be directed to a page with further information on our ad options and will then be directed to then sign up page. From there just fill out the form and you're done. You will instantly receive a confirmation email with your username and password to gain access to your new Hiboat account.

How do I make a payment to puchase ad space?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and AMEX payments online through paypal's secure server. Your information is ALWAYS safe, secure and confidential. To begin advertising, register an account with us then proceed to log in to with the information you provided at registration. Once logged in you may begin advertising on our site. Depending on the type of account you created, you can either place private party boat ads, dealer boat ads, service directory ads or banner ads. While logged in, Click on the type of ad you would like to place and you will be directed to the paypal payment page. You DO NOT need a paypal account to complete the transaction. Once you have completed the payment process, a page will appear where you can begin posting the ad paid for. The entire process which includes creating an account, making payment and posting your ad should only take 10 minutes to complete.

I get an error page when creating my ad.....why is this?
Be sure there are no apostrophes(') in your ad. This will cause errors in ad placement. If you continue to receive an error page, your pictures may be too large. Our picture upload system can handle most any size photo....however in the rare occasion that it cannot accept your photo, please reduce the size using a photo editor. Click here to download a free picture resizer...OR...email your pics to admin@hiboat.com and we will be happy to resize and submit the pictures to your ad.

How do I edit my boat ad?
Log in to your account and click "edit current listings". You will be taken to the same page as when you created the ad. Simply edit the info you'd like changed and you're done.

Boat was sold before my ad expired.....now what?
To delete your ad, log into your account and click "manage current listings". You may then delet the ad. If you have another boat to sell, you may use the remaining time by completely editing your ad with another boat. We do not give any refunds if your boat sells before the expiration date. However, if you place a 6 month listing with us and it does not sell, we will re-post it until does (this applies ONLY to 6 month ads). Send us an email icluding the ad# and your username.

I forgot my username and/or password...how do I retreive my account info?
On the log in page there is a text box where you can retreive your account info. Simply enter the email address you used to create your account and your info will automatically be sent to it.

The link to my website doesn't work...why is this?
(applies to dealers, service ads, and banner ads)
Be sure you have entered the FULL url to your website including the http:// prefix. (ex: http://www/yoursitename.com).

How do I check my banner ad statistics?
Log into your advertiser account and click "view current running banner statistics". You will be able to track the amount of time that it has been displayed, clicked on and how many impressions are left.

What is the mailing list and why should I join?
You can subscribe to our mailing list by entering your email address in the left margin of any page. You will receive occasional updates on our site and special promotions from our sponsers. Your information is NEVER shared, sold or transfered and is used ONLY by Hiboat.com staff to inform you on updates that you may be interested in.
